Old Dog, New Tricks? I'd Rather Be Painting! Help please?

It's one thing to enjoy painting and creating things, but getting the message out there to sell my little babies is altogether a very different challenge! Don't get me wrong. I know the theory. Let's face it - You don't get a BA (Hons) in International Marketing with Spanish if you're a "numpty"! However, the world post A.D. 2000 has changed. Significantly. Massively - since "my day".

I am having to learn everything all over again in terms of social media and the power of the internet. Which is why I am going grey right now! Tearing my hair out (metaphorically speaking) because its really difficult to learn how to create websites. They may be more "user-friendly" than before - but this is NOT my forté. I really would rather be painting!

This won't be a very long blog. I just want to acknowledge that artists and everyone with an ounce of creativity in their bones absolutely loves to create their unique works of art. We love the process of taking the inspiration, the ethereal idea - and translating it into something concrete in 2D or 3D. Every piece we make has its own unique challenge we need to rise to.

But our homes get full of our lovely creations and we know we need to release them to other homes and people that will truly appreciate them. Every work of art is a blessing waiting for a new home :-)

Question: What is EARTH without ART? .......... EH? ..... exactly!

Life without works of art to grace our walls and homes is pretty boring. Imagine a home with "NO paintings or ornaments AT ALL?" It would be incredibly sterile to say the least!

Nothing to indicate the personality or the likes of the individual living there. Have you ever considered that every ornament someone buys was once the creation of a person who had the gift of creativity? Every piece of furniture you buy, every piece of crockery you use quietly tells others something about your personality: your likes and dislikes in terms of style, design, colour and artistic influences. We are what we choose to buy!

I digress. But you get the point? Without Art - without Design - who are we?

So - I am dipping my toe into creating a new website to represent an online gallery of my artwork and ceramics. I discovered I can make pottery horse heads and I like the output so far. I know I have a way to go to perfect them, but I invite you to be part of the journey seeing me improve? I have lots of ideas for paintings. And I am turning my art into products.

If anyone knows how to make amazing WIX websites? Please do contact me! More than happy to pay for a personal tutorial/workshop to solve my issues. Anyone out there able to teach me new tricks? Within "Safe" boundaries?

For now, please contact me on 1rhonajack@gmail.com
