About
Artist & Teacher
When I was just 4 years old, I began drawing horses and have been fascinated by animals and birds ever since; their bone structure, muscles, fur and feathers, and the way they move. I love to see how light casts shadows too.

My Dad was an art teacher and he used to say, “Many people look, but few people really see!” I was taught to draw freehand, no grids, no tracing! My work is mainly representational however, I am now creating looser pieces that capture the essence of an animal with fewer brushstrokes. A lady who sees all my new work says “You create magic with light and depth.”

I love teaching observational drawing to adults and I’m convinced anyone can learn to draw well, as long as they’re prepared to learn the techniques and practice. I love seeing peoples’ confidence grow as their work improves over time.

I am DBS checked to teach vulnerable adults. I have taught autistic teens and adults with great success.
