In 2019 I was not well so I began attending art classes at IPSUM in Swindon. There is a theme every week, but to be honest I just like to do my own thing. I hadn't done much painting since 'A' Level Art many moons ago. The challenge with the Maine Coone cat was to see if I could capture the fluffiness of its tail.
The Cheetah was only my 3rd acrylic painting. If I'd known how long it would take, I might have picked something easier! All those dots!!!! What's really nice is when I began to doubt what I was doing, the teachers were really encouraging with hints and tips to recover a painting.
Cats are the most beautiful creatures on earth that share our lives on their own terms! If you've ever owned one, you know this is true! They all have unique characters and I am just glad my cat Smitty shows me his love and adoration in so many tangible ways. Funny - I can't bring myself to sketch him though!
